Tour Overview
Ladakh is located in the northernmost part of India, extends from the Siachen Glacier in the Karakoram Range to the Great Himalayas in the south. The amazing Ladakh tour promises a breathtaking experience of 7 nights, which includes stunning lakes, rocks, high mountain passes, endless roads and valleys.
The itinerary includes iconic destinations like Pangong Lake, Leh, Zanskar Valley, Nubra Valley, Khardung La Pass and ancient Buddhist monasteries. Hemis National Park, 40 km south-east of Leh, offers glimpses of rare species like bharal and snow leopard in its 600 sq km expanse. The Hall of Fame Museum in Leh commemorates the valor of the Indian Army.
Adventure lovers can indulge in trekking activities in Markha Valley. After exploring Leh and its attractions, set out on an adventure. The Indus River originating from Mount Kailash provides an opportunity for thrilling rafting experiences. Nubra Valley invites you for a camel safari. A trip to wonderful Ladakh is sure to surprise and create lasting memories worth cherishing.
Tour Itinerary
Day 1: Arrival in Leh
On reaching Leh in the morning, I was transferred to the hotel. An entire day was dedicated to acclimatization to the altitude of Leh (11,500 ft/3500 m). Later, in the evening, I explored Shanti Stupa or Leh local market on foot. Overnight stay in Leh.
Day 2: Leh Tourism
After breakfast, a comprehensive tour included visiting the Hall of Fame, Gurudwara Pathar Sahib, Magnetic Hill, Kali Temple and Sangam, where Zanskar River Rafting was enjoyed. Hall of Fame, Tribute to Kargil War Heroes and Gurudwara Pathar Sahib were important stops. Will return to Leh in the afternoon. The night stay will be in Leh.
Day 3: Leh to Nubra Valley (128 km | Approx 4-5 hrs)
After breakfast, I drove towards Nubra Valley via Khardungla, the world’s highest motorable road (18,380 feet). On arrival, I checked into the hotel/camp. After lunch, a relaxing walk along the Shyok River and an optional camel ride on the dunes between Diskit and Hunder village. Overnight stay in Nubra Valley.
Day 4: Nubra – Pangong Lake via Shyok River Road (150 kms | 6-7 hrs Approx)
After breakfast, with free time to appreciate the color-changing lake and sunset, the journey continued to Pangong Lake (14,500 feet) via Shyok River Road. Overnight stay at Pangong Lake.
Day 5: Pangong Lake – Leh (140 kms | 4-5 hrs Approx)
A picturesque sunrise was seen over the lake early in the morning. After breakfast, drive back to Leh including optional shopping at Leh market. Overnight stay in Leh.
Day 6: Indus Valley Sightseeing (100 Kms | Approx 4-5 hrs)
After breakfast, sightseeing included Shey Palace, Thiksey and Hemis Monastery, Stoke Palace Museum, and Indus Ghats. Overnight stay in Leh.
Day 7: Departure Leh
An early morning transfer to the airport marked the end of the tour.
